Mushroom Spray Machine

Significance

  • A number of infections, especially the dangerous Trichoderma, can spread through the spray water used on mushrooms.

  • Very hot or cold water damages mushroom mycelium and affects its smooth growth.

  • This system pasteurizes, conditions, and sprays water to protect mushrooms from infections originating from water sources.

Significance

  • Many mushroom varieties have a very short shelf life.
  • Mushrooms are often dipped in potassium metabisulfite (salt solution) to extend shelf life or enhance whiteness, which negatively affects mushroom quality and health.
  • International standards prohibit the use of any chemicals on mushrooms before or after harvesting.

Function

  • Fully automatic operation.
  • Immediate cooling of mushrooms to 4°C within 3–4 minutes.
  • Removes all excess surface water from mushrooms.
